Empowering members across Newton-le-Willows & Earlestown to stay connected to their community, access local errands, and get a helping hand around the home with ad-hoc daily tasks.

Clear Service Boundaries

Knowing exactly what we can and cannot do before you join.

✓ What We CAN Help With

Outings, Shopping, Doctors & Community Access?
YES: We help you get out and about to local shops, doctors' appointments, the pub, or social groups—whether you need a helping hand throughout your trip or simply physical support getting in and out of the house and car. (Subject to availability).
Companionship & Reassurance?
YES: We provide friendly, familiar companionship if you or your relative feel anxious about being home alone, running local errands, or managing daily routines.
Light Household Help & Light Meal Prep?
YES: We can assist with ad-hoc household tasks or help prepare a light meal on occasion. (Note: Our service is designed for occasional help rather than meeting daily meal prep routines).
Lifting & Moving Items Around the House?
YES: We can assist with moving light furniture, laundry, or loft items—within the safe manual handling capabilities of one person.

✕ What We CANNOT Do

Pick-up & Drop-off Only (No Support Needed)?
NO: If you only require point-to-point transport and do not need any physical, emotional, or practical support (such as reassurance for anxiety, help carrying bags, or simply double-checking the gas is off and the doors are locked before leaving), you will be better served by a taxi service, which will usually work out cheaper.
Regulated Personal Care (Washing, Dressing, Medication)?
NO: Not at the moment. Personal care (washing, dressing, continence care, administering medication) is a CQC-regulated activity. While we may register in the future to offer expanded services, Support Club offers day-to-day support, not registered care.
Heavy Manual Labour or Deep Cleaning?
NO: We cannot undertake heavy lifting requiring multiple people (like moving large sofas), deep cleaning, or handling biological hazards.

  • Same-Day Payment: Pay securely via bank transfer or card payment link on the day of booking.

Availability & Scheduling

Clear schedules designed around your weekly routine and ad-hoc support needs.

Regular Recurring Support

We offer regular, repeat support blocks tailored to your required frequency (such as weekly supermarket trips, regular errands, or structured help around the home). Specific days and times are agreed upon on a case-by-case basis to ensure they perfectly match your routine and our availability. If your preferred time slot is currently full, we can add you to our priority waiting list for future openings.

Week-by-Week Flexible Slots (15, 30 & 60 Mins)

Flexible ad-hoc support blocks are released on a week-by-week basis after all regular support blocks have been finalized, and so availability will vary. These can be requested anywhere from 7 days down to 30 minutes in advance and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Arrival Window & En-Route Tracking

Because we never rush a member who needs a few extra minutes of support, exact arrival times may flex slightly. Our support workers maintain constant communication via your WhatsApp Group and share our live location when en route to your front door.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about membership, payments, and safety.

What does the membership fee cover and how do credits work?
Each month you pay a £14.99 membership fee plus the pre-agreed cost of any planned regular support. If you book additional ad-hoc support blocks during that calendar month, your first TWO ad-hoc bookings receive a £5 discount each (saving you up to £10/mo). If these credits are not used within the calendar month, they do not roll over and are non-refundable.
What happens if we sign up mid-month?
Your first month's fee is paid in full upon joining. Your second month's standing order will be adjusted to account for any over- or under-payment based on your exact start date. We will notify you of this exact adjusted figure by email prior to the 1st of the following month.
How do we pay for regular vs. ad-hoc support?
Planned regular support is added to your monthly standing order due on the 1st of the month. Ad-hoc bookings are paid on the same day via bank transfer or card payment link (no advance deposit or credit balance held). We recommend making your first two monthly payments manually via bank transfer before setting up your ongoing standing order. As our service grows, payment options may adapt to keep booking as smooth as possible.
Do you provide support outside of Newton-le-Willows?
Our day-to-day support is provided exclusively within Newton-le-Willows and Earlestown. If you require support that takes you outside of this primary local area, we can often accommodate this, but an additional fee will apply to cover the support worker's return travel time.
Can a partner, friend, or neighbour join me on outings?
Yes! If your companion does not require any physical or practical assistance themselves, they are always welcome to come along with you for free. However, if you both have support needs and wish to access the community together, we can arrange a dual membership with a linked Support Plan so you can share support blocks and local errands as a pair.
Who is coming to my home?
As a new local service, you will initially be visited by Paul, sole owner and operator of PJ Care Services Ltd. As we expand, additional DBS-checked and insured support workers will be introduced. You will always be assigned a single dedicated primary support worker for your area or specific needs. If your primary worker is unavailable, you will have the option to request support from another local team member.
Can family members manage bookings for an elderly relative?
Yes, absolutely. Family members or representatives can be added during signup or at any point later. There is no limit to the number of family members who can join your dedicated WhatsApp group and Web Portal. They can view all communications, join conversations, and submit support requests on your behalf. Family access can be changed or removed whenever required.
Is there a long-term contract or exit fee?
No. There are no minimum contract periods, no early termination fees, and no exit penalties. If you decide to cancel, your membership remains active and services remain available until the end of that paid calendar month. Membership fees are non-refundable.
Are you a care agency or a taxi service?
Neither. Support Club is a dedicated physical, practical, and emotional support service and not a taxi service. We do not provide regulated personal care (hands-on washing, dressing, continence care, or medication administration) and are not CQC-registered. If you require regulated personal care, we recommend contacting a CQC-registered care agency or St Helens Adult Social Care.
Do I need a medical diagnosis or doctor's note to join?
No. You do not need a medical referral or formal diagnosis. Whether you feel anxious going to Tesco on your own, need help carrying shopping, or want a friendly companion for local errands, Support Club is built for you.
